Pakistan: reduced climbing fees to continue in 2009

(K2Climb.net) "We are glad to inform you that the Ministry of Tourism has continued the ongoing concession of reduction in Royalty fee for the year 2009, the same as was applicable in 2008," writes Nazir Sabir.
"We hope the mountaineering community will make maximum use of these lucrative incentives and come to Pakistan without any apprehensions as our Northern Areas are serene and safe for foreign visitors as always."

No. 1(1)/2002-OP. In supersession of all previous notifications regarding announcement of concessions for Mountaineering, Ministry of Tourism, Government of Pakistan has decided to continue reduction in royalty fee during the calendar Year 2009 as per details given below:
i. Zero royalty fee for peaks upto 6500-M.
ii. 10% royalty fee on mountains situated in Chitral, Gilgit and Ghizer except on Spantik/Golden Peak.
iii. 05% royalty fee on all peaks during winter season(December-February)
iv. 50% discount on royalty fee on all peaks except as mentioned in (i) and (ii) above as per following beak-up:
