ExWeb award staple and Red Bull athlete Valeri Rozov base-jumped the wall in 2004.

More Pakistan winter: Ural climbers for Amin Brakk

(Newsdesk) ExWeb readers might recall it from the 2004 "Russian Extreme Project": a team of 4 climbers, a camera-man and a photographer, climbed a new "Russian" route on Amin Brakk’s (5850m) West face and expedition leader Valeri Rozov base-jumped from the summit. It was the first Russian climb of the mountain as well as the first BASE jump from this wall ever.

Now the Russians are at it again. An Ural team will try a winter ascent of the great wall via the Sol Solet (red) route, Lena Laletina from RussianClimb told ExplorersWeb.

Serguey Grachev (leader), Alexander Shabunin, Eugeny Dmitrienko and Andrew Glen headed out to BC a few days ago (February 7) and plan to climb until March 7.
