Winter Pakistan: Avalanche thwarted Urals on Amin Brakk

(Newsdesk) The Russian team, who tried a winter ascent of the great wall via the Sol Solet route on Amin Brakk, has decided to go home.

RussianClimb reported that Eugeny Dmitrienko wrote they "fixed 9 pitches, made deposit, returned to BC and were going to climb in alpine style further. But at night before our start the huge avalanche buried on the wall all our gas, food and the most part of the gear... So, we're forced to abort the expedition "Inshallah! May be, we'll be lucky next time..."

All the team members are going home.

An Ural team, of Sverdlovsk region, tried a winter ascent of the great wall via the Sol Solet (red) route on Amin Brakk (5850m),located in the Karakorum Valley Nangma (Nangma Region) .

Serguey Grachev (leader), Alexander Shabunin, Eugeny Dmitrienko and Andrew Glen headed out to Base Camp on February 7 and planned to climb until March 7.
