(TheOceans.net) In less than 22 days the Woodvale Atlantic Ocean Rowing Race will kick off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua. Many more rowers entered for this race than the Indian Ocean Rowing Race and 11 are women.

The overwhelming majority of the rowers are from the United Kingdom, others are from South Africa, France, Canada and Denmark. The girls* are from France and the UK.

The Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race 2009 starts 6 December from La Gomera in the Canary Islands and concludes in English Harbour in Antigua; a distance of 2900 miles.
