Ryan reported that two days ago they went to sleep anxious to get over to the big drop and get started down the Axel Heiberg Glacier, “the last remaining BIG obstacle left,” he emphasized.

At 12 am they were both awake and agreed to just go and were off at 2 am.

He continued, ”17 hours later, through the big drop, the quiet valley, the triangle, ice falls, crevasses, and down the ski jump, we were very tired but through the best of the route.”

”Today [20 January] we covered 30 kilometers down the long and lovely glacier and can literally see the finish out below us on the frozen Ross sea ice.”

Ryan added, “Check here tomorrow for the breaking news...”
