The first Ilyushin flight has landed at Union Glacier

with Henry Worsley onboard.
(Correne Coetzer) The first Ilyushin-76 flight for the 2015-16 season has landed at Union Glacier, Adventure Network (ANI) reported.

Union Glacier is ANI’s base camp on Antarctica. The plane departed from Punta Arenas in Chile.

British solo, unassisted, unsupported skier, Henry Worsley was onboard the plane. He is about to attempt a 1100 NM / 2037 km traverse from Gould Bay to the bottom of the Shackleton Glacier and will be flown by ANI to his start point as soon as the weather permits.
