Vedangi Kulkarni is attempting to break the record for the fastest time cycling around the world by a woman. She is starting and completing her journey in Perth, Australia. She refers to her bicycle as ‘Cappuccino’. The current female around the world record is 144 days by Paola Gianotti in 2014.
Having cycled across Australia and New Zealand, Kulkarni got on a plane to Vancouver, Canada, and has initiated her cycling across North America.
Currently in Pemberton, British Columbia, she has been significantly hampered by ubiquitous smoke from large wildfires burning around the area. She laments that she struggles with intense climbs up mountains, and then, because of the smoke, there is no view to be enjoyed. Her determination, however, has not been dented.
