Himalaya heads-up: Makalu push called off, Manaslu push is on, plane crash

(Newsdesk) Laura and Yuri report the Sherpas would not continue the climb due to danger so the Makalu party is descending.
On Manaslu, Ryan Waters-led Mountain Professionals have joined the summit push, hoping to make a run at the top on October 1st.
In other news: Seven Britons and five Chinese died in a plane crash Friday. The Sita Air Dornier aircraft was headed to Lukla, failed on the outskirts of Kathmandu, and killed all 19 passengers on board.
Nepal has 16 domestic airlines. The latest fatal crash in Nepal is the sixth in less than two years.
