Posted: Mar 06, 2013 07:20 am EST

(Newsdesk) Maciej, Adam, Artur and Tomasz have bagged the First Winter Broad Peak yesterday, but the climb isn't over yet. News just arrived at ExplorersWeb about Maciej and Tomasz' situation.

Artur Hajzer from the home team reported at 2 am on March 6, "Artur Małek and Adam Bielecki are in camp IV at an altitude of 7400m. Tomasz Kowalski and Maciej Berbeka bivouacking on the pass at 7900m.

Karim Hayyat is in Camp 2. Shaheen Baig and Amin Ullah, who waited at Base Camp with leader, Krzysztof Wielicki, are climbing up the mountain to meet the summit team and help them hydrating and descending.

News from Jan Komorowski just arrived at ExplorersWeb. "According to news from Polish TV tvn24 (from around 7am Polish time) Artur Hajzer said that Maciej is descending, but they don't know what is the situation of Tomasz. It may be very difficult as they are both extremely exhausted. I understood that he may have stay alone on the bivac site, but I'm not sure about this."

Jan added, "Looks like 2 or 3 HAP's (High Altitude Porters) should reach Camp 4 soon to help them descending, but it's also just my opinion."

On March 5th, 2013, Maciej Berbeka, Adam Bielecki, Artur Małek and Tomasz Kowalski bagged the first Winter Broad Peak (8047m) in the Karakorum, Pakistan. They summited between 17h30 to 18h00 local time. They departed Base Camp on March 2nd.

Raheel Adnan gave a description 6 expeditions who paved the way on Broad Peak and we should not be disregard their efforts.
