1600 miles, 8 summits
On February 15th, British adventurer, Ash Dykes (24), completed a 1600 mile crossing of Madagascar in 155 days. According to him, he became the first person ever to traverse the length of Madagascar whilst summiting its 8 highest mountains.
Previously, Ash made a crossing of Mongolia, which he completed on August 5th, 2014. From West to East, he trekked 1,500 miles in 78 days over the Altai Mountains, through the Gobi Desert and across the Mongolian Steppe, all whilst pulling 120 kg (18 stone) of supplies on a homemade trailer.
