After acclimatizing with two first ascents in Pakistan’s Hunza Valley, Adam Bielecki and Louis Rousseau have started up their main goal, an unclimbed and unnamed 6,000m peak. (They have taken to calling it Atta’niz Sar — “Summit of Two Fathers”.)
The climbers reached the southeast wall after reconnoitering the opposite side of the massif for a potential descent route.
“[It is] one of the most beautiful mountain valleys I have ever been,” Bielecki told Polski Himalaizm Sportowy.
After their reconnoiter, the pair had to cross a glacier bristling with huge crevasses, including some hidden under a recent snowfall. Nevertheless, the duo reached the base of the wall and have begun their ascent.
