Denis Urubko and Don Bowie are safe in camp at 7,000m on Broad Peak, ensconced in the same crevasse that Urubko used on a previous push. However, Urubko reports that Bowie is extremely sick with “pulmons”. It’s unclear whether he means flu or more seriously, pulmonary edema. After resting for the night, the two will rappel back to Base Camp tomorrow.
