Gietl, Feistl Open New Route in South Tyrol

On Dec. 11, Simon Gietl and Martin Feistl opened a new route in South Tyrol, right in Gietl’s backyard. The climbers called the 150m line Affogato (M6, WI 7) .

According to the climbers, Affogato is a veil of ice barely thick enough for 10cm ice screws and includes a key section over an icy roof.
