More Kangchenjunga Summits

American Eric Gilbertson and Sherpa Pemba Thenduk summited 8,586m Kangchenjunga this morning, Seven Summit Treks reported. Grace Tseng of Taiwan also summited, according to her tracker.

There is no information yet on who climbed with Tseng. EliteExped partner Mingma Tenzi Sherpa and Louis Jammes were also on the summit push, fresh from summiting Everest (with oxygen).

Tseng climbed Kangchenjunga in 2019 but failed to reach the main summit. She has returned to the mountain as part of her 14×8,000’er project.

Gilbertson planned to climb Kangchenjunga without oxygen as part of his project to climb the highest peak in every country. Kangchenjunga, on the border between Nepal and India, is considered the highest peak in India.

Before Kangchenjunga, both Gilbertson and Tseng attempted Everest without O2, but neither reached the summit.
