Check Out This Everest Footage From a Drone 400m Above the Summit

A team of photographers managed to fly a drone over Everest at more than 9,200m on May 27, 2022. Three months after the flight, they have released the short film, Flying over Everest.

Wang Yuanzong, founder of the Chinese company 8KRAW, which partnered with DJI in this project, said that this idea started three years ago.

The 8KRAW team, including Yuanzong, topped out at dawn on May 27. It was good weather, on a relatively warm day. Then the magic started, as one of the climbers flew the drone, a superlight DJI Mavic 3.

Several drones have flown over Himalayan and Karakoram peaks in recent years, but at over 400m above the summit of Everest, this seems to be the highest yet.
