Muchu Chhish: Climbers Back in Base Camp

The Czech team attempting Muchu Chhish is back in Base Camp after nine hours descending from Camp 3, and nine days on the mountain. There are few details about what happened over the last 48 hours and no suggestion that the team reached the summit. Thankfully, there’s also no mention of any injuries or health issues.

Tomas Petrecek confirmed that the climbers continued their retreat from Camp 3, exhausted and shouldering heavy loads, until Camp 1. There, Pavel Bem and another team member met them, bringing lighter shoes (the terrain below Camp 1 is a long moraine of boulders), drinks, and a welcome injection of energy to help the rest of the team down.

Hopefully, the team will post details of their long summit push after some rest.
