Elite Quartet Head to The Ogre

Francois Cazzanelli and Matteo Della Bordella of Italy are in Pakistan to climb the Ogre (7,285m) in Gilgit-Baltistan. Silvan Schupbach of Switzerland and Symon Welfringer of France will join them.

Baintha Brakk I, better known as Ogre I, lies in a subrange of the Karakoram and is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Of the several past attempts to climb it, only three expeditions have succeeded. The most famous of these was the 1977 first ascent by Chris Bonington and Doug Scott. Scott broke both legs in a fall near the summit and had to crawl down the mountain for days to survive.
