K2: Pasang Norbu Sherpa’s Speed Attempt Stalls

Pasang Norbu Sherpa also seems to have given up on K2.

Norbu’s goal had been to climb K2 within 24 hours from bottom to top, and to get down before the weather window closed. He set off from Base Camp yesterday at 6 am local time and reached higher Camp 2 (6,670m) seven hours later.

His tracker now puts him at around 7,300m at higher Camp 3, but he appears to have stalled. His tracker has not moved in the last few hours.

Norbu’s tracker shows the usual wild deviations (likely due to satellite issues) but does not show any recent upward progress.
