Gabriel Tabara of Romania has died in Camp 3, common to Everest and Lhotse. His sherpa guide found his lifeless body in the tent yesterday morning.
Tabara, 48, was trying to climb Lhotse without supplementary oxygen. He was outfitted by Makalu Adventure, Everest Chronicle reported. He showed no signs of illness during the day. Once in Camp 3, he went into his tent to sleep, the expedition company said.
Tabara had climbed Manaslu in 2021. A team will bring his body down from the mountain tomorrow.
