Alison Teal travels the world filming environmental and cultural phenomena with a mission to educate through entertainment.
During her most recent trip to the Cenotes of Mexico, Teal navigated a sea of plastic on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, which she filmed to highlight the issues of pollution and illegal dumping.
The trash was located directly over the fresh water caves and is impacting the ecosystem.
According to Teal, the global economy has “created a culture of waste through the use of disposable plastics and excessive packaging”, which now threatens our fresh-water sources.
Teal has teamed up with CINDAQ AC, a registered Mexican non-profit to raise awareness about the freshwater aquifer of Quintana Roo.
