Bye, take care and thanks for following.
(Newsdesk) “Moving up [from C2 at 4300m]: The central pillar and the wall are too dry. I’m going to try the S-E pillar. I’ve got 3 days. Bye, take care and thanks for following.”
Those were the final words of French climber and snowboarder, Joel Wischnewski, published on his website on February 6th, 2013.
Joel’s dispatches had already hinted he was on Nanga Parbat seeking more than a climb. He never returned from the mountain and his recovered body now rests at the Herrligkoffer’s alpinists’ cemetery near Nanga Parbat Base Camp.
