Tyler Andrews of the U.S. left Everest Base Camp at 8:20 pm Nepal time. He hopes to summit Everest tomorrow, and if he does it in less than 20.5 hours, he will achieve the Fastest Known Time on the mountain without supplementary oxygen.

The scene has an air of deja vu: Andrews, in light clothes and holding poles, stands by the stone chorten at Everest Base Camp. His team then starts the chronometer, and he begins running into the night toward the Khumbu Icefall.
