Update: Race Across Antarctica Nears the End

With 100km to go as of Christmas morning, Colin O’Brady maintains a lead of about 100km over Lou Rudd. After an unexpected uphill, O’Brady has started his final descent toward sea level. Both are overjoyed at seeing the Transantarctic Mountains in the distance, a sign that the finish line is near. Rudd has done magnificently but needs a miracle to catch up and claim the first unsupported, unassisted traverse.
