File this under close calls. A man in Khakassia — a Russian republic in eastern Siberia — triggered a massive avalanche and somehow lived to tell the tale.
In the video obtained by Pravada.Ru, the man skis to the edge of a cornice and then simply vanishes as a massive chunk of snow breaks off and slides down the mountain. His friends are understandably dismayed as they approach the edge and look over the now apparently vertical drop.
According to Pravada.Ru, the man escaped with no injuries. Wild!
