Everest Then What? Australia’s first woman to climb Everest launches a women 4 women walking retreat in Nepal

Australia’s first woman to Summit Mt Everest Brigitte Muir OAM turns 60 this year. This November, she will take 12 women on a Walking Retreat in Nepal.

Participating women will be encouraged and helped to reconnect, rejuvenate and relaunch their energy and excitement for their life’s purpose on their own terms, and to share skills with local village women to help them with whichever cottage industry business ventures or goals they want to pursue.

Brigitte has been going to the same village in the foothills below Everest many times since 2007. She fundraised to help the women of the Gyamdanda Community villages in Solu learn to read and write and helped fund other empowerment projects and courses. The Mothers Group, as the women’s committee is known, has a community bank account and supports families in need with small loans.

Brigitte sees her involvement with a small community in Nepal as an opportunity to share and inspire Western women to step out of their comfort zone to help themselves and help others.

She has teamed up with Women’s coach Juliette Robertson for what she believes is a first of its kind.
