Manaslu New Route: Attempt Aborted

May, 20: Expedition over. Bad weather forecast prevented Peter Hámor and Horia Colibășanu from climbing further on the Northside of Manaslu (8.163m).

Horia informed that the climbers aborted the plan for the new route attempt, due to bad weather forecast. “There is avalanche danger on the Northside and it is snowing. Bad weather follows”, Colibășanu announced.

Colibășanu and Hámor will return home soon.

Hámor (Slovakia) and Colibășanu (Romania) left for the glacier on May 17. The team reached the summit of Manaslu (8,163m) on May 10, on the standard route (N-E), without bottled oxygen and Sherpa.
