Drones Face FAA Hit

Poles

Game over for drones?
Antony Jinman caught some flak from the SP station when he flew a drone on his skiing trek to the South Pole in January. There is no word yet on regulations for private drones but WSJ reports that highly anticipated federal rules on commercial drones are expected to require operators to have a license and limit flights to daylight hours, below 400 feet and within sight of the person at the controls.

Jinman would let the drone hover or ski pass it and fly it back without having to ski back to pick up the camera. Location:Antarctica Source:Explorersweb
