Shivling North Face Claims 2 Polish Climbers

(Montagna) Polish climbers Lukasz Chrzanowski and Grzegorz Kukurowski lost their lives on Shivling, 6543, in Indian Himalayas while attempting to climb the north face in alpine style. The two got stuck on the wall 250 meters from the summit. Kukurowski fell ill, lost consciousness and died the next day.

Left without food and water, Chrzanowski was descending to meet rescuers when he slipped and fell 300 meters.

The expedition was part of a project that aims to train the next generation of great Polish mountaineers. More details on Montagna (Italian)
