In 2016 planned unique expedition of Ukrainian mountaineers in the Pamir Moutains.

The main purpose: open a new routes on the peak Ivan Franko (5320 m) and peak Lesia Ukrainka (5606 m). These mountains was only one ascent – 40 years ago.

Second purpose: Raise and set atop a bust of Ivan Franko and Lesia Ukrainka.

Ivan Franko (27 August 1856 – May 28 1916) was a Ukrainian poet, writer, social and literary critic, journalist, interpreter, economist, political activist, doctor of philosophy, ethnographer, the author of the first detective novels and modern poetry in the Ukrainian language.

Larysa Kosach-Kvitka: (February 25 1871 – August 1 1913) better known under her literary pseudonym Lesya Ukrainka, was one of Ukraine’s best-known poets and writers and the foremost woman writer in Ukrainian literature. She also was a political, civil, and feminist activist.
