I have read (on the web media) comments by Gorzkowska that she got “poisoned” making it sound as if it were an intentional action. She did not go as far as to state by whom. Truly disappointing and leaves a horrible taste as for her media ethics. People who live off the media circus should really have no place in our community.

They all live in the media circus. Show me the one that does not? The social media b/s is what drives the sponsors and marketing deals and that’s where the payoff is. How can you be a “motivational speaker” or “professional mountaineer” or a “coach” without the media/social media? Hence all the selfies and b/s. The need for exposure can lead to disastrous decisions…

Magda was never competent in any way whatsoever. A quick look at her social media profile will reveal the kind of person she is and what she intended out of her “Winter K2” circus. She’s just another clown in mountaineering circus.

She’s at least been to 8500m without oxygen. Not even Nims has much of a record climbing high without O2 before this victory – may even be less than her!
Kurt is right, in terms of seeking sponsorship, social media fame and this trend of peak bagging…they’re all the same.

Any update on the 3 climbers @ 1124hrs? Hoping for the best. Guys, please come back. If you don’t come back, Allah will give me wings to fly to K2 and look for you inshallah.
