3 climbers out of contact since August 31
(Press Release) Five member of Kashmir Valley Expedition comprising of Imran Junaidi, Usman Tariq, Khurram Rajpoot, Awais Khattak and Ali Tariq left Islamabad on 22 August 2015 to conquer highest virgin peak of Kashmir SARWALI 6326-M high situated in Neelum Vlley Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Main climbing party comprising of Imran Junaidi, Usman Tariq and Khurram Rajpoot established camp 2 at 5000m on 30th August 2015. Last contact with the party was made on 31st August 2015 since then there is no contact the expedition members.
Base camp Manager Mr. Awais Khattak who came down to Kel Town, AJK to seek police and local help. This information was revealed to Mr. Saad Tariq Siddiqui on 7th September 2015 evening, who took immediate action to arrange a rescue mission in consultation with Col. Manzoor Hussain President Alpine Club of Pakistan and Mr.Abu Zafar Sadia Secretary Alpine Club of Pakistan and Mr.Essam Khattak of Ibex Club.
First rescue team comprising of Mirza Siddique and Jamshed left on 8th September 2015 at 9 am, 2nd team comprising of Mr.Saad Tariq Siddiqui, Mr.Muzaffer Faizi, Mr.Mehboob Chaudhry,Dr.Naveed left for Muzaffarabad at 8 pm on 8th September 2015.
Mumtaz Alam and Ejaz Chaudhry are expected to join from Kel, AJK. Both rescue teams are expected to meet at base camp on 10th Sept 2015 and start search and rescue mission under the guidance of Mr.Tariq Siddiqui Vicee President Alpine Club of Pakistan and Principal Adventure Academy, Islamabad.
A latest news arrived that a helicopter with Col ® Abdul Jabbar Bhatti Ex Vice President Alpine Club of Pakistan reached base camp to search the missing mountaineers.
