(ExWeb/Madrid. Story updated at 12:33pm EDT.) "Hey, it's me - Piotr Pustelnik. I must have some serious mental illnessI want to go back to Annapurna next spring. Piotr told ExplorersWeb some months ago.

After four failed attempts and several broken promises, the Himalayan knight was back to his final 8000er. It has paid off - today, he stood on the top together with friend and "second Peter" Hamor, from Slovakia. According to Hamor home team, the climbers stood on top at 1:45pm, local time.

Piotr has thus become the third Polish climber to complete the 14x8000ers, after Jerzy Kukuczka and Krzysztof Wielicki.

Update 11:23 am EDT: Fellow Pole and team mate Kinga Baranowska has also reached the top. "In spite of hurricane-force winds, we reached Annapurna summit," Kinga reported. "Now we are descending slowly; please, think of us..."

Anna was Kinga's 7th 8000er.

12:33pm EDT: Russians Serguey Bogomolov and Eugeny Vinogradsky summited around 4:00pm, local time, according to Lena Laletina of RussianClimb. They planned to spend the night in C3.

Seasoned Annapurna veteran and 11, 8000er summiteer Serguey Bogomolov from Russia was a member in Piotr team. Bogomolov tried Anna latest in 2008; suffered frostbite and left for home, but returned to try and rescue Iñaki Ochoa de Olza.

The amazing Three Peters (Pustelik, Hamor and Morawski) suffered a fatal blow in spring 2009, when Piotr Morawski fell to his death in a crevasse on Dhaulagiri. I still get emotional thinking about him and that stupid accident, Piotr told ExplorersWeb. However, Peter Hamor and I must get out of the shadow after Piotreks death. Maybe this trip should be a tribute to him.

Himalayan Knight Piotr Pustelnik finally completed his 14x8000er quest in his fifth attempt on Annapurna!
